Page Builder

Compose Pages and Posts visually with the first-party Page Builder.

Page Builder is a visual editor for Pages and Posts. You can switch between it and the Content Editor without creating a separate copy of the content.

Open Page Builder

  1. Open Content → Pages or Content → Posts.
  2. Create a new item or open an existing draft.
  3. Choose Open Page Builder. If the action is unavailable, check that Page Builder is installed and allowed for your role.

Build The Content

  1. Use Insert to add a supported element such as text, an image, a gallery, columns or a button.
  2. Select existing content on the canvas to see its editable boundary.
  3. Use Settings to change the options available for the selected element, including layout, alignment, Media, links and other element-specific choices.
  4. Use Outline to see Sections, Columns and nested content. Expand branches when needed, select an item to find it on the canvas, and use the supported move controls to rearrange content.
  5. Preview before publishing, especially after changing columns, images, galleries or wide sections.

Gallery Settings

Tiles creates an automatic mosaic, Grid exposes a Columns setting, Natural follows the images’ natural flow, and Button shows one lead image with a View Gallery action. Where supported, you can also change lightbox behaviour, add images or replace the Gallery image set.

A Button Gallery keeps its caption below the lead image. When a reader opens a lightbox, a standalone image uses the available viewer space; Previous and Next controls are shown only when there is another gallery image to visit.

Reuse Patterns And Site Design

Use Patterns for repeated sections and Site Design for Site-wide presentation.

Switch Editors

Choose Open Content Editor for normal rich-text authoring. Open Source Editor is available where your role allows advanced source work. Switching editors changes how you edit the item; it does not create a second Page or Post.

Save Or Publish

Use Save Draft to keep working without replacing the live revision. Choose Publish when the content is ready. Preview checks the Site Template, Header and Footer as well as the authored content.

Check Narrow Layouts

Columns, Fact Grids, Galleries and tables can change shape as the available width narrows. Preview at desktop and narrow widths when layout is important.

Gallery Captions

Tiles keeps captions over an image when they fit. Longer captions move below the image so the complete text remains readable, including with larger text settings.
