Collections

Build deliberate groups of published content with optional structured member fields.

Collections bring related Pages or Posts together without changing the content itself. Use them to organise guides, case studies, portfolios or other deliberate groups.

Create A Collection

  1. Open Content → Collections and create a Collection with a clear name.
  2. Choose whether it should have a public archive, if that is useful for visitors.
  3. Edit the relevant Pages or Posts and assign them to the Collection.
  4. Preview the Collection listing before publishing it or linking to it in Navigation.

A Practical Example

For a portfolio, create a Case Studies Collection and assign selected published Pages to it. Visitors can browse the public archive when enabled; individual Pages still keep their own routes and published revisions.

Use A Query For More Control

A Collection defines the group. A Query can select content from that group for a homepage section, Sidebar or Component, with its own ordering and limits. Named Query views can reuse that same selection with different result counts or presentations.

Collections In Resource Packs

Resource Packs can include Collections directly. Updating an older Collection keeps its existing members and public addresses, so the update does not recreate the Content assigned to it.

Structured Fields

A Resource Pack can define structured member fields directly on the Resource that backs a Collection. Those fields appear on content assigned to that Collection as ordinary labelled inputs. A separate Content Fields Resource is useful when the same fields should apply across unrelated Content.

The Collection still groups ordinary Pages or Posts; adding structured fields does not change their public addresses or normal publishing history.

Check The Result

Publish a few representative items before testing the archive or Query. An empty listing can reflect unpublished content, missing Collection membership, or restrictive Query filters.

Trash

Open Trash to restore removed items or use Empty Trash to permanently remove everything currently in that Trash. Permanent removal cannot be undone and Micro CMS will stop the action when existing content dependencies make deletion unsafe.
