Sidebars

Create Sidebars and title, order and publish their supporting items.

A Sidebar adds supporting content beside a Page or Post where the chosen layout supports it.

Create And Select A Sidebar

  1. Open Design → Sidebars and create or edit a Sidebar.
  2. Choose Add Item, then select a Type.
  3. Add an optional title and set the number of items where that option is available. Pages and Post lists can show thumbnails.
  4. Use the up and down controls to arrange the items, then publish the Sidebar.
  5. Choose the published Sidebar and its position in Site Design, or override the Sidebar for an individual Page or Post.

Built-In Choices

Topics / Categories, Tags and Collections link to their public archive pages. A Collection needs its public archive enabled to appear. Pages lists public Pages alphabetically. Latest Posts lists the most recently published Posts. Popular Posts uses the Site’s Analytics rankings from the last 30 days. Search adds a search form.

Built-in choices do not require a separate Resource. Public lists show published, publicly visible content with a working public address. An empty list is omitted. Popular Posts needs Analytics and recorded visits; Search needs the Site’s search capability enabled.

Reusable Resources

Choose Content query for a filtered or manually selected reading list. You can also add a published Form, Component or Navigation Resource. Select the Resource after choosing its Type.

Appearance

The active Design controls the Sidebar width, side, spacing and typography. The item title is optional and can be renamed to suit the Site.

Advanced Settings

The Sidebar contents are the primary editor. Open Advanced Settings only when a Resource or package requires additional configuration.

When Nothing Appears

Check the active Template and Sidebar setting, then confirm that the Sidebar and its selected resources are published. Lists with no matching public content and disabled Search or Analytics modules do not appear.
