Queries

Create reusable content selections and named presentation views.

Queries are reusable selections of Site content. They determine which Pages or Posts to show; their presentation determines how each result is rendered.

Create A Content Selection

  1. Open Insights → Queries and create a Query.
  2. Choose the content type and relevant filters, such as a Collection, Category or featured content.
  3. Choose the ordering and maximum number of results where supported.
  4. Save and publish the Query, then use it from a Page, Component, Sidebar or other compatible Resource.

Reuse One Selection With Named Views

When several surfaces need the same underlying selection but a different result count or card presentation, keep one Query and add named views in Advanced Settings. A view may change the result limit and presentation; it does not change the Query source, Collection, filters or ordering.

Render the base Query with {{query.case-studies}}. A named view such as latest can be rendered with {{query.case-studies.latest}}. This avoids creating separate Queries solely for “latest”, homepage or other presentation variants of the same selection.

Example: Recent Case Studies

Create a Collection called Case Studies. Add several published Pages, then create one Query for that Collection. Use the base Query for the archive and named views for smaller homepage or featured presentations when they use the same selection rules.

Troubleshoot An Empty Result

Check that the content is published, has the right Collection or Category membership and satisfies all filters. Start with the base Query, then check the named view presentation separately. A view cannot broaden or replace the underlying Query filters.
