Full Site Exports

Create and deliver a temporary portable Site package without treating the Micro CMS spool as retention storage.

A Full Site Export is a portable copy of your Site. Use it to keep a copy outside Micro CMS, restore the same Site, or move supported Site data to another installation.

Create And Keep An Export

  1. Open System → Backups & Restore.
  2. Choose Create Full Site Export and let the operation finish.
  3. Download the export before its displayed expiry.
  4. Store the downloaded file somewhere you control, together with any password or recovery details needed to use it.

The temporary download held by Micro CMS is for delivery, not long-term backup retention. Confirm you can locate your saved copy before starting a move.

Restore An Export

  1. Open System → Backups & Restore on the destination Site.
  2. Choose the Full Site restore/import action and upload the saved export.
  3. Choose the mode that matches your goal.
  4. Use the matching Restore Site, Import Content or Transfer Site action and let the operation finish.

Choose The Right Restore Mode

  • Restore this site: recover the same Site from one of its exports.
  • Content Transfer: bring content, Media, presentation and Site Applications into a different Site while keeping the destination Site identity and Owner.
  • Site Transfer: move the source Site identity and users to the destination installation.

Content Transfer and Site Transfer affect Site identity differently. Check the source export and destination before choosing the action.

Safety And Progress

Site Owner restore and transfer require fresh Owner authentication. Before a Full Site restore changes the destination, Micro CMS creates a Safety Recovery Point. If that protection cannot be created, the restore does not start. The upload must finish in the browser; the restore itself can continue in the background.

After Restoration

Check the homepage, important Pages, Media, Forms and any Site Applications. When moving to another installation, also verify the public address and sign-in behaviour. Keep the saved export until the restored Site has been checked.
