Components

Components are reusable sections used in more than one Page, Template or other Site layout. They let you maintain a section once instead of copying it everywhere.

Create A Reusable Section

1. Open Design → Components and create a Component for one clear purpose.
2. Add its normal markup, text and supported Resource references.
3. Preview it within a Page or Template that will use it.
4. Publish the Component, then place or reference it where needed.

Example: Featured Stories

Create a Featured Stories Component that displays the results of a published Query. Use the same Component on your homepage and a relevant landing Page. The Query owns which stories appear; the Component owns their presentation.

Changing A Shared Component

An update can affect several Pages at once. Preview representative Pages before publishing. If the Component uses Navigation, Media, Forms or Queries, include those related Resources when packaging the section for another Site.
